What is counselling? How can it help me?

Counselling is a therapeutic process that provides a safe space to explore emotional or psychological challenges. It can help you gain clarity, build coping strategies, and improve your overall mental well-being.

In your first session, I’ll take the time to understand your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and get comfortable with the counselling process.

The number of sessions varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients find a few sessions sufficient, while others may benefit from ongoing support.

Yes, all sessions are confidential. There are limitations to confidentiality which I will share with you at the outset of the therapeutic process such as situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law. I am available to address any questions you may have to ensure for clear understanding and reassurance regarding this.

There’s no need to prepare extensively. Just come as you are. If there are specific issues or events you'd like to discuss, jotting down a few notes might help organize your thoughts. You are in control of what you choose to share, and you can decide how much or how little you wish to disclose. I will always respect your boundaries and create a comfortable environment where you can proceed at your own pace.

I use an integrative approach, combining Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Transactional Analysis. This ensures a tailored experience that suits your unique needs.
